Tamara Misewicz-Healey is the founder of MiEHS Alliance, LLC and the creator of the MiSafetySense program. An environmental health & safety (EHS) specialist by profession, Tamara observed all the obstacles and inconsistencies EHS professionals faced while trying to accomplish the level of worker health and safety they were striving for.

The underlying story was often the same: a couple individuals trying to operate and manage all things EHS within their organization. This limitation manifests differently from organization to organization and can include items such as: limited management support, limited resources, limited power, limited communication, limited help for the workload, limited employee engagement, limited employee trust, limited consistency, etc.

Being a visionary, Tamara saw an opportunity for something more powerful. Why should every facility need to reinvent the wheel? Why should worker health and safety be the responsibility of only a couple employees? Why not form an environmental health & safety alliance to provide quality expertise, incomparable company support, solution sharing, and countless resources. Led by this vision, MiEHS Alliance, LLC was formed and its culture-based safety management system, MiSafetySense, was created.

 

Prior to forming MiEHS Alliance, Tamara, a native to the Scranton, Pennsylvania area, received her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Environmental Health from the University of Georgia. She has over 10 years of experience in the health & safety field- with roles within laboratory, consulting, healthcare, and manufacturing. Tamara has performed work throughout the United States and abroad; providing her with unique experiences and a well-rounded perspective.

 

Tamara is an avid reader and traveler. She loves to drink ridiculous amounts of coffee, have spontaneous dance parties with her son, mountain bike, camp, watch college football, take her dog on long hikes, spend time with her family and friends, and get involved in volunteer work. She is passionate about the value MiEHS Alliance can bring to an organization and how she can leverage her company to have a positive social impact on the world.
